Details of Latest ClarionTools Product Updates |

The latest releases of the ClarionTools Wizards have included many positive and productivity enhancing features. These updates are available free for download to registered owners of Version 6 products, here is a sampling of the highlights: - NEW! Column headings and sort descriptions can now be overridden in the templates to use a variable for the description. This is useful if you have any column headings and/or sort descriptions that could change at runtime.
- NEW! Installation program that follows the C3PA 3rdParty standards.
- NEW! Revised demo, tutorial and help files, makes an excellent help system even better. Remember that all the ClarionTools Wizard templates have context sensitive help from the template tabs and windows, just press F1 and see the help for the template feature that your are currently working on.
- NEW! Templates have been updated and streamlined. Added a new feature that helps to identify which template fields can accept a variable or valid Clarion expression, just look for the [ ! ] button in the templates to identify these fields. This feature is new and can be now found throughout all ClarionTools Wizard Products.
Query Wizard v6.05 Specific - NEW! Support for multiple 1st generation child queries. This is HOT!, while Query Wizard always let you query down a single parent/child relational tree, the new version gives you an easy way to query down multiple 1st generation parent/child relationships. You can now easily query from your main browse and filter on any fields in related files that may or may not be in related browses on the window.
- NEW! Direct support for UltraTree. If you are an UltraTree user, you are going to love the ability to drill-down into the trees! Drop the Query Wizard extension on your UltraTree procedure and your users will wonder how they got along without this killer combo! With the new support for multiple 1st generation child queries, the UltraTree presentation will become even more useful as your users narrow down the EXACT data they are looking for.
- NEW! Direct support for Fomin Report Builder. While FRB always shipped with a Query Wizard compatibility template, it had never been able to take advantage of all the new Query Wizard 6 features. Now with native support of the Fomin Report Builder Process, you can take advantage of all the latest Query Wizard productivity enhancements. This is a highly recommended upgrade for FRB and QW users. If you are a FRB users and haven't yet tapped into the power of Query Wizard with the Formin Report Builder, do yourself a favor and download the demo to see what your users are missing.
- NEW! Language translations are now included for Dutch and Spanish. As always the target language is selected by a simple drop list of available supported translations from the Query Wizard Global Extension template.
- FIXED! While Query Wizard has always enjoyed a history of rock solid operation, there are a few fixes in this latest version. The standouts are fixing the CSTRING problem when a field has an INLIST setting in the dictionary, the BETWEEN operator for SQL now supports all data types, it was only active for dates in previous versions, and general cleanup and streamlining of template and core code. This latest version also addresses a problem when the Query String is blank if using the SoftVelocity IP Driver.
Report Wizard v6.06 Specific - NEW! Simplified the code template for inheriting a report from a list box, added a simple checkbox to pass the current browse sort order.
- FIXED! When there are no saved Report definitions, the appropriate buttons on the Saved Report Layout window are now disabled.
View Wizard v6.03 Specific - NEW! Enhanced support for ODBC and SQL file type browses. Sorting on these file types has now been enhanced to support rock solid advanced sorting capabilities on your favorite ODBC or SQL based browses. This includes support of the invaluable View Wizard Locator across custom sorted columns and is extended to include any standard Clarion sort tabs that you may have active
- NEW! Template option for the View Wizard Locator to use the field picture. Can be enabled for Date and Time pictures only or set to inherit all field picture formats.
- NEW! View Wizard Locator can now be set as the active locator for all Standard Clarion tabbed sorts with just a simple check of one template option (ABC version only).
- NEW! Support for Icons in the View Wizard popup menu (ABC version only).
- NEW! Added template option for a separator on the popup menu.
Spreadsheet Wizard v6.05 Specific - NEW! Warning message is now displayed when Excel is not installed.
- FIXED! Completely reworked the file save options and fixed a number of annoyances and inconsistencies in the file save as operations. When there are no saved Spreadsheet, the appropriate buttons on the Saved Spreadsheet Layout window are now disabled.
CrossTab Wizard v6.02 Specific - NEW! Warning message is now displayed when Excel is not installed.
- NEW! Support for international versions of Excel to allow for replacement of SUM and AVERAGE functions.
- FIXED! Completely reworked the file save options and fixed a number of annoyances and inconsistencies in the file save as operations. When there are no saved CrossTabs, the appropriate buttons on the Saved CrossTab Layout window are now disabled.
