The ClarionTools Version 7 Wizards represent the next generation of the tools
that you know and trust to deliver productivity enhancing features that your
users count on. Version 7 updates are available at a reduced upgrade cost to registered owners of Version 6
and prior products. Here are the major highlights of what is new:
NOTE: THESE NEW VERSIONS ALL SUPPORT C55, C61, C62, C63, and C7 IN BOTH ABC and LEGACY TEMPLATE CHAINS!
LATEST UPDATES!
View Wizard 7.02 (cumulative with 7.01) Release:
- Enhancement - Alternating Row Color (Greenbar) Support with simple global activation.
- Enhancement - Added vwSortFieldMatch(STRING,STRING) function that is useful to determine if a locate is occuring on a specific field to further format output for the resulting locate, example, adding leading zeros, spaces, extra formatting that cannot be done with the default picture format.
- Enhancement - View Wizard Window Resize extension template.
- Enhancement - Can now select where the column headings are displayed from, by leaving the column heading blank, can overcome the listbox formatter size limit of 4096 bytes.
- Column heading can be applied at runtime from the column heading in the dictionary or field definition.
- Can be applied at runtime from the field name.
- Can be overridden from the dictionary option using the VWCOLHEAD option.
- Can selectively turn off the dictionary options if desired.
- Enhancement - Picture format of the browse field can be applied at runtime from an override, or variable.
- Enhancement - Column freezing support that works mid-column!.
- Enhancement - Can modify the alternate column description with static or runtime variable, good when column has no heading, abbreviated, or otherwise to cryptic to make sense in a list of columns on the Wizard.
- Fix - Clarion 7 changes to eliminate linker warnings on image libs.
Query Wizard 7.04 Release:
- Fix - Choosing the target browse when multiple exist was not working in all cases.
Query Wizard 7.03 Release:
- Enhancement - Legacy version can now support SQL syntax.
- Enhancement - Drop Calendar date selection now functions with double click.

Enhancement - Drop Calendar 'None' button replaced with 'Cancel' and returns
with no change versus the 'None' button which cleared the calling date field.

Enhancement - SQL syntax can be switched with project define to support driver
substitution and maintain TPS and SQL Syntax versions from the same codebase. (MultiProj
and FM3 compatible).
- Enhancement - Windows with icons have been changed to ICON:APPLICATION and that
can be overridden by adding an icon named ctsqw_windowicon.ico to your main
application's project images.
- Enhancement - New query operators for Is Blank and Is Not Blank.
- Enhancement - New SQL query operators for Is NULL and Is Not NULL.
- Enhancement - New template switch to allow developer to treat NULL as blank SQL
Only.
- Enhancement - New Expression type "None" to allow for an expression
that stands by itself, the user does not select the operator or compare to
values.
- Enhancement - Quick filter can now pick up the value from the list where right
click down was detected when called by right click popup from the browse.
- Enhancement - New language translations added.
Fix - Various SQL template fixes.
- Fix - Drop Calendar did not navigate to next year or month properly when current
month day was outside of range of next or previous month or month year.
- Fix - Drop Calendar controls where not displayed properly in Clarion 7.
- Fix - Drop Calendar control caused GPF in Clarion 7.
- Fix - Expression button on Manual Query was missing the '...' due to button size
too small.
- Fix - Added new translation strings.
- Fix - Quickfilter error on field left blank it now compares to blank as
expected.
- Fix - Clarion 7 changes to eliminate linker warnings on image libs.
Query Wizard 7.02 Release:
- All Query Wizard controls now work together.
- Save/Restore feature has been enhanced and validates a restored query prior to restore.
- Added French and Norwegian language options.
Query Wizard 7.02, Report Wizard 7.01, and Spreadsheet Wizard 7.01 Release:
- Added new "Field/Column Names" tab to procedure templates that allows the developer to select the format of the field names that the user sees for selection
- Source of the field name can be specified from Description, Field Name, Column Heading, or from a developer specified dictionary option.
- Optional prefix can be added from the File Prefix, File Name, Custom based on File Name, or from a dictionary option.
- Prefix separator can now be developer defined..
- Completely updated help file, more context sensitive links, all new screen shots, and update for new 7.xx features.
Version 7
- NEW! Support for Clarion 7.
- NEW! Local compile support! This has been a long outstanding request of many Wizard developers and gives you the flexibility to decide how you would like to package your program.
- NEW! Installation program that helps cleanup older versions and provides support for Windows Vista installations using the Clarion Gold standard SetupBuilder.
- NEW! Image theme libraries allow you to change the color schemes and icons used by the Wizard product line from a simple template drop list.
- NEW! Revised help.
- NEW! Revamped internal configuration management that will allow us to bring you more enhancements to the products in the coming months. The Version 7 Wizards will continue to evolve and your involvement will be welcome to prioritize features that you would like to see going forward.
Future add-ons: - COMING SOON! ClarionTools Transformation Wizard. What is it? This new tool will allow you to easily change text, fonts, sizing, and positioning of all controls and windows used by the ClarionTools Wizard product line.
- COMING SOON! Additional storage options for saved Wizard definition files. Initially, you will be able to change the storage method of saved Wizard definitions from the current .TPS format to store the definitions in a Microsoft SQL database. Based on user demand, other storage drivers will be added.
